Great table ... but coffee table/panel storage unit unreasonably priced.

Have enjoyed the dining room table for almost 3 years now, brilliant design, expandable to seat the whole extended family as well as the perfect size for daily use. Couldn't be happier.

The thing is we have to store unneeded panels in a closet, far from the dining room, and taking up valuable closet space ... these things are not small.

The coffee table solution is perfect, we have the perfect spot for it in the dining room. The coffee table was not yet available when we bought the table, it came out later.

The problem is the $700 cost for it. This is basically an open frame stick unit with rails to install your own panels, with one panel sized top ... for $700. That's about 1/3 the cost of the dining room set, and more than half of what I paid for the table on sale back then.

... and its basically an empty shell.

This thing is on materials alone, only worth $300-400.

Transformer need to figure out their costs, and not look at selling this at an inflated price to offset the profits lost from selling tables and sets at deep discounts. For those of us who purchased the dining table before the coffee table was released ... we are kinda at the mercy of having to pay an artificially steep price to be able to store ... the table we already bought.

There ... said my peace.

Drop this price, at least for previous table buyers.
